The Lawrence Charitable Trust comes from Michael Piper wanting to leave something behind after his passing. Michael Piper was truly inspiring, as a young boy he had a tragic accident and lost one of his legs and an eye but even with this disability went on to achieve wonderful things throughout his life.
Michael was driven by education and had strong links with Lewes Grammer School and Plumpton College, it was his wish for a charity to be setup to continue his passion for this subject, however giving the trustees the power to look at all charitable purposes in East Sussex.
The Trustees welcome applications for funding projects or needs which benefit the community of East Sussex from local charities, clubs, and community groups, particularly in the field of education.
